(Sanford, Fla.) November 14, 2016 – After wrapping up the 20th Anniversary of Arts Alive in Seminole!, a fundraising gala for the visual and performing arts in Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS), The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools (The Foundation) is excited to announce a new partnership with the Lake Mary-Heathrow Festival of the Arts that will bring additional arts funding into the district.

In celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the Lake Mary-Heathrow Festival of the Arts has some new and exciting changes commencing with its partnership with The Foundation. Through this partnership a portion of the festival proceeds will go to providing student scholarships to graduating seniors and supporting arts curriculum funding. Another big change, is the festival’s decision to move to the early spring. Traditionally held in the fall, the rebooted festival will return March 4-5, 2017, at Oval Park off of International Parkway in Lake Mary. The festival’s board of directors anticipate that this change will attract more artists that were once torn between the large number of festivals held in the fall.

“This event brings world-renowned artists to Lake Mary and has grown to become a nationally recognized outdoor arts event,” said City of Lake Mary Mayor David Mealor. “Through the generosity of the corporate sponsors and our new partnership with The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, the Festival provides major scholarship support to Seminole County graduating seniors, and showcases many of our civic groups and demonstrates a volunteer spirit that reflects positively on our area.”
